Tale Of A Changemaker ...

Monica Jones is a native Houstonian with family ties to Miami, Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana. As a child of two veterans, Monica and her brother grew up with a strong family foundation in which they learned the importance of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Monica’s childhood had strong musical influences, from her mother’s days as a background singer to being active in performing arts programs in grade and middle school. Those early performing arts days plus the exciting and alluring life MTV Entertainment showcased fueled her passion to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Her love for art and music took her to Middle Tennessee State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Recording Industry Management. Monica also holds a Master's in Business Administration. Today, Monica is a purpose driven Community Strategist combining her love of volunteering and passion for planning events and runs one of Houston’s most sought after and rising non-profit event planning firms, Born Identity Project. Through her company she is able to help non-profits and small businesses execute social change events. Her social butterfly personality has led her to produce events such as her signature event, Social Change Sundays, a networking event which highlights non-profit organizations. In addition to running her company, Monica works full-time as a Senior Market Analyst in the Chemical Processing Industry at a market intelligence company.  Monica currently serves as a co-coordinator of the global feeding initiative #HashtagLunchbag’s Houston Chapter. Monica believes we all have the power to make a difference in the world and hopes through her work she is able to inspire others to use their platform to help restore the good in the world. She hopes others are able to understand glass ceilings are meant to be broken in order to make a difference and pave the way for future changemakers.
